The Trump administration is offering incentives to Interior Department employees to retire early or voluntarily leave their posts, according to a memo sent to staff Monday.
The department notified employees that the Office of Personnel Management has approved Interior’s plan to offer early retirements under the government’s Voluntary Early Retirement Authority and separation incentives under the Voluntary Separation Incentive Payment Authority.
The offers are available until March 26, according to the memo obtained by POLITICO’s E&E News.
The offers come as the Trump administration is pursuing “large-scale” cuts to the federal workforce.
