Interior Secretary Doug Burgum signed an order Friday officially granting leadership authority to several people currently overseeing his department’s energy and land bureaus, workforce and policies.

The order names William Groffy as both acting director and principal deputy director of the Bureau of Land Management; Scott Cameron as the acting Interior assistant secretary for water and science as well as principal deputy assistant secretary; and Kevin Lilly as acting assistant secretary for fish and wildlife and parks as well as a principal deputy assistant secretary.

Justin Shirley is named in the order as acting director and principal deputy director of the Fish and Wildlife Service. However, that job will soon have a permanent occupant, as the Senate voted Friday to confirm Brian Nesvik as director.

All the acting leaders named in the Aug. 1 order, which grants the individuals their specific authorities until Sept. 30, have already been working in the department. The Interior Department did not respond to a request for comment.
