Sen. James Lankford has introduced a legislative package that seeks to cut government waste, aligning himself with allies of President-elect Donald Trump.

This week, Lankford (R-Okla.), a senior member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, offered a set of bills to prioritize streamlined regulations and rulemaking as well as keep track of teleworking federal employees and government spending. It’s the latest move by Republican lawmakers to back the incoming Trump administration’s push to slim down the administrative state.

“The American people gave Washington a mandate in November — waste less, save more,” Lankford said in a statement.
