The Center for Western Priorities announced Wednesday that its longtime executive director, Jennifer Rokala, will step down next month and hand off control of the conservation advocacy group to its current No. 2.
Rokala, who has spent 11 years leading the Denver-based organization, will vacate her post May 1. Deputy Director Aaron Weiss will succeed her in that role.
“Regardless of political party, we know that public lands are central to our identity in the West, and not something we can take for granted,” Rokala said in a statement.
“It has been an honor steering this talented team of professionals to develop new and creative ways to communicate the value of our shared public lands for current and future generations.”
