The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee will hold a hearing next week on Interior deputy secretary nominee Katharine MacGregor and James Danly for the same role at the Department of Energy.

It will be the first nominations hearing Chair Mike Lee (R-Utah) holds since securing the confirmation of Interior Secretary Doug Burgum and Energy Secretary Chris Wright.

MacGregor, a former congressional aide, was Interior deputy during the first Trump administration. She went on to hold executive positions at NextEra Energy.

Danly served on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission also during Trump’s first term, first as general counsel and later as a commissioner and chair.
