The Mule Deer Foundation has tapped longtime conservation professional and all-around outdoors enthusiast Bob Ziehmer to serve as the organization’s chief operating officer.
A 25-plus-year veteran of the Missouri Department of Conservation, where he served as director for six and a half years, Ziehmer most recently has held the position of senior director of conservation for Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s.
Ziehmer’s new position starting Monday will also encompass service as chief operating officer of the affiliated Blacktail Deer Foundation.
“I’ve admired the Mule Deer Foundation’s work for years,” Ziehmer said in a statement, adding that the two foundations are “building real momentum to restore habitat and ensure healthy deer herds for future generations, and I’m honored to be part of that mission.”
