Brewery owner Dan Kleban is ending his environmentally focused campaign for Maine’s U.S. Senate seat.

Kleban, who entered the race less than two months ago, said he’s “enthusiastically” supporting Maine Gov. Janet Mills (D), who launched her bid for the seat Tuesday after Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) pushed her to run.

“I got into this race for the same reason I started Maine Beer Co.: to do what’s right. While our message was right, the timing simply isn’t,” Kleban said in a video to supporters Tuesday.
