Senate Energy and Natural Resources Chair Joe Manchin said Tuesday he believes three Federal Energy Regulatory Commission nominees will be in place before a crucial June deadline.

“We lose the third [FERC] member in the month of June,” the West Virginia independent said. “The clock is ticking, and it’s a high priority.”

Confirming David Rosner, Lindsay See and Judy Chang would regulatory paralysis at the agency. Commissioner Allison Clements’ term expires June 30, and the panel could be left without a quorum.

Clements can stay until the end of the year, per agency regulations, but has not said whether she’s willing to do so if senators delay approving the president’s picks.
