A Senate panel plans to vote this week on bills dealing with marine, weather and transportation matters, including a popular measure to mandate AM radio in passenger vehicles.

The bills will be considered Wednesday by the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, which will also be voting on the nomination of Commerce secretary appointee Howard Lutnick.

The wide-ranging bills all gained traction in committee during past congressional terms but failed to become law.
