House Republicans plan to launch a dedicated subcommittee to support the work Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy are carrying out to slash the federal government’s workforce and regulations.

House Oversight and Accountability Chair James Comer (R-Ky.) is tapping Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), a conservative firebrand, to lead the new subcommittee, Comer’s team said Thursday.

The panel will be called the Subcommittee on Delivering on Government Efficiency, to align with the “Department of Government Efficiency” name, or DOGE, for Musk and Ramaswamy’s effort, which has President-elect Donald Trump’s support.

“The DOGE subcommittee will support the Oversight and Accountability Committee’s mission to root out waste, fraud and abuse in the federal government,” said a senior committee aide, granted anonymity to speak about future plans.
