Rep. Mark Green will seek reelection to his GOP-friendly Tennessee House seat, a spokesperson confirmed Thursday, following pressure from former President Donald Trump to reconsider his intended retirement.

Trump nudged Green, chair of the House Homeland Security Committee, to nix his planned retirement in a Thursday message.

Writing on Truth Social, Trump said he hopes Green “runs for Re-Election” and that the Tennessee Republican “has had a lot of options because of his political talents.”
