Elon Musk has been impressed by some of the workers he’s encountered in his quest to slash the federal government, he said Monday.

The billionaire tech executive, who’s leading President Donald Trump’s government-downsizing team known as the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, applauded some federal employees in a post on social media Monday as his team continues its efforts to revamp the federal bureaucracy and downsize government agencies.

But, he said, those workers have been held back by their bosses.

“Many times, the @DOGE team has found excellent people at the working level in government who want to do the right thing, but have been prevented from doing so by prior management,” Musk said in a post on his social media website X.
