Elon Musk, who’s poised to advise President-elect Donald Trump on how to downsize the government, is publicly posting the names of federal climate officials on his social media platform.
Musk reposted the names of four government climate officials on his social media platform X on Tuesday, adding comments that appeared to criticize their roles. Musk’s reach on the platform is extensive; he has 205.3 million followers. He’s also one of two people picked by Trump to lead an effort to advise the incoming administration on how to cut down on federal agencies and regulations.
In one post Tuesday, Musk replied to another user’s criticism of Alexis Pelosi, California Democratic Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s niece and a senior adviser for climate at the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
“Nancy Pelosi’s niece should not be paid $181,648.00 by the US Taxpayer to be the ‘Climate Advisor’ at HUD,” the original poster wrote.
