“Those who still fail to return to office will be placed on administrative leave,” Musk posted Monday on social media.

Elon Musk issued a warning Monday to federal workers who haven’t yet returned to their offices.

“Those who ignored President Trump’s executive order to return to work have now received over a month’s warning,” Musk posted on the social media platform X. “Starting this week, those who still fail to return to office will be placed on administrative leave.”

Musk’s online message marks his latest push to prod workers back into the office and to downsize the federal government with President Donald Trump’s blessing. But Musk’s authority over the federal workforce remains murky; the White House has sought to downplay his influence while Musk and Trump continue to portray Musk as a driving force behind the push to oust government employees.
