The House Natural Resources Committee could unveil and vote on its portion of the Republicans’ sprawling party-line bill May 6, according to three people familiar with the planning.

The markup will come at a critical time for House Republicans, who will be racing to finalize and pass their energy, defense and immigration package before Memorial Day.

Natural Resources is slated to go over its text one day before the House Energy and Commerce Committee considers its own plan May 7, according to the people, who were granted anonymity to describe private deliberations. Plans are subject to change.
