The House Natural Resources Committee this week will dive into how best to modernize federal hydropower infrastructure.
The Subcommittee on Water, Wildlife and Fisheries hearing Wednesday is titled “Advancing Federal Water and Hydropower Development: A Stakeholder Perspective.”
The panel, led by Wyoming GOP Rep. Harriet Hageman, will weigh the impacts of regulations including the Endangered Species Act, Marine Mammal Protection Act and National Environmental Policy Act on building or expanding hydropower infrastructure.
The hearing will include witnesses from a Wyoming energy company, an Arizona water and power company and a California technology firm that specializes in desalination.
