Neera Tanden will once again take the helm of the Center for American Progress, one of the lead Democratic think tanks in Washington.
Tanden previously served as domestic policy adviser to former President Joe Biden. During her time in the White House, she advocated for clean energy and climate policies and regularly touted the climate impacts of the Inflation Reduction Act.
Tanden previously headed CAP in the years leading up to Biden’s presidency. She also had roles in former Presidents Barack Obama’s and Bill Clinton’s administrations, and was a senior member of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.
She will return to CAP as the think tank hopes to combat President Donald Trump’s moves to thin the federal government and put forward conservative policies at the border, abroad, and on energy and climate.
