Rep. Brett Guthrie, the incoming chair of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, announced two staff members Monday that could play a critical role in shaping energy policy in the next Congress.
Megan Jackson and Sophie Khanahmadi, two longtime aides for the Kentucky Republican, will serve as the committee’s staff director and deputy staff director, respectively.
“Megan and Sophie are trusted advisors who will be central to advancing our America First agenda and bringing conservative solutions to the issues facing the American people,” said Guthrie in a statement.
Jackson served for eight years as a legislative director in Guthrie’s office and was a longtime aide to former Kentucky Republican Rep. Ron Lewis before that.
