NOAA supervisors told to report workers who ignored Musk email

An internal memo asked managers to name those who did not respond to Elon Musk’s “What did you do last week?” email blast.

NOAA supervisors and managers were instructed Wednesday to report employees who did not comply with an order to provide five bullet points documenting their work activity during the previous week.

Supervisors were told to report the names to the heads of their line or staff offices by no later than 4 p.m. ET Wednesday, according to an email memorandum from Vice Adm. Nancy Hann that was viewed by POLITICO’s E&E News and confirmed by a current agency employee.

A NOAA spokesman did not reply to a request for comment.

Tech enterpreneur Elon Musk, head of the Trump administration’s so-called Department of Government Efficiency, notified employees of the directive to provide five bullet points in a post on the social media platform X. Employees across the federal workforce also received email instructions — sent by the Office of Personnel Management — last Saturday under the subject heading “What did you do last week?”
