The National Park Service has chosen a former longtime park ranger to lead two of its popular sites in Utah.
Lena Pace will begin her assignment overseeing Arches and Canyonlands national parks on April 7, the agency said Monday.
In addition, she’ll be responsible for supervising the superintendent at Hovenweep and Natural Bridges national monuments, NPS said in a statement.
NPS Deputy Regional Director Brian Carlstrom said Pace is “an exceptional leader and is known for bringing creative solutions to complex challenges.” She has been filling the position in a temporary acting role.
