The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee will vote on a host of bills this week on a wide variety of issues, including nuclear energy.

The panel will take up the “Nuclear REFUEL Act,” S. 2082, from ranking member Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) and Sen. Jon Husted (R-Ohio).

The bill looks to bolster projects that can recycle nuclear waste, which can both provide fuel for upcoming advanced reactors and minimize the buildup of spent nuclear fuel across the country.
