Former President Barack Obama is accusing former President Donald Trump and his running mate of lying to the public about the federal government’s hurricane response.
Obama, who is stumping for Vice President Kamala Harris in the final stretch of the presidential campaign, lambasted Trump on Tuesday over issues ranging from his competence to his remarks about disaster responders.
“A few weeks ago, we had one of the deadliest hurricanes in American history,” Obama said Tuesday at an event in Madison, Wisconsin. President Joe Biden and Harris were in North Carolina meeting with local officials, Obama said.
“And in the midst of that, Donald Trump and his running mate are making up stories about how the Biden administration is withholding aid and … not giving it to Republican areas, just making stuff up,” Obama said.
