The oil and gas industry’s largest trade association is asking for a meeting with Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee.
The American Petroleum Institute sent its request in a letter to Harris on Sept. 3 via the White House, with spokesperson Andrea Woods confirming the group wants the meeting to occur with Harris in her current role.
API said it wants to “discuss our shared commitment to addressing the persistently high rate of inflation on the American people and the energy security challenges facing the nation.”
The letter comes just weeks away from the November election, and Harris has been delivering some mixed messages on how she would approach energy issues in the top job.
