A majority of Americans on both sides of the political divide oppose the sale of federal lands to private owners, according to a new poll commissioned by the Trust for Public Land.

The National Survey on Outdoor Public Spaces also found widespread opposition to cutting staffing and funding for public lands management.

YouGov conducted the survey of 4,501 adults in the United States between March 13 and March 27. The sample was weighted to reflect voter file records and census data on gender, age, race and ethnicity and education.
