The GOP last year moved to phase out a host of energy tax incentives. Some Republicans want them back.

Some House Ways and Means Committee Republicans have introduced legislation to revive incentives the GOP took a sledgehammer to in last year’s budget reconciliation bill.

Led by Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pa.), the legislation would restore various tax credits for renewable energy and efficiency — some of which are expiring soon.

“If America wants to lower costs, strengthen its energy supply, and build with confidence for the future, then we need a policy framework strong enough to support the scale of that work,” Fitzpatrick said.
