A House Natural Resources subcommittee will take up federal land and recreation legislation this week, including a bill to extend Lake Tahoe restoration efforts.
S. 612, the “Lake Tahoe Restoration Reauthorization Act” from Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.), would reauthorize programs until 2034. The bill passed the Senate in July.
“Sustainability programs in Tahoe must be able to keep up their operations so we can continue to keep the lake clean and support our local communities — not just today, but for future generations,” Cortez Masto said upon Senate passage.
