Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet, a longtime proponent of preserving public lands, is jumping into the race to be Colorado’s next governor.
Bennet launched his campaign Friday for next year’s race, drawing extensively on his 16 years in the Senate.
“I’ve fought to provide more opportunity to Coloradans, leading the battle to expand the Child Tax Credit, limit the costs of prescription drugs and protect our public lands,” he said in his campaign launch video.
“But Donald Trump doesn’t believe in building opportunity. He believes in taking a wrecking ball to our economy and our democracy,” Bennet continued.
