EPA Administrator Michael Regan warned lawmakers against gutting his agency as a potential second Trump administration looms.

Regan on Wednesday made his first appearance before the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, where Republican lawmakers pressed him on a number of EPA regulations targeting heavy industry.

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), the committee’s ranking member, asked Regan about Project 2025, a plan crafted by several conservative organizations for the next Republican president to downsize the federal government, including EPA.
