Investments in clean energy technologies are expected to reach a record $180 billion for 2026 despite the phase out of tax credits for wind and solar, according to a new report from finance technology company Crux.

Capital expenditures for clean energy and manufacturing reached $74 billion in the first half of the year, the analysis said.

“The market is proving resilient,” Crux CEO and co-founder Alfred Johnson said in an interview. “We’re seeing a significant amount of investment subsequent to the tax law changes of last year.”

Crux added that it estimates that developers safe-harbored, or began construction on, 170 gigawatts worth of clean energy capacity ahead of a July 4 deadline for companies to lock in access to investment and production tax credits.
