Republicans attack IRA spending on election eve

Congressional Republicans are accusing the Biden administration of funneling billions of federal grant dollars to a handful of cherry-picked organizations that espouse “radical, left-leaning” views.

In a staff report released on election eve, House Energy and Commerce Republicans wanted to “expose existing problems with the environmental justice grant regime.”

The document offers a glimpse into how Republicans are preparing to gut the Biden administration’s climate spending plans, should they win control of Washington.

“This radical rush-to-green agenda, which relies upon supply chains dominated by the Chinese Communist Party, will not only have consequences for American national security but drive affordable and reliable sources of energy — including oil, gas, and coal —out of existence,” the report reads.
