Senate Democrats are vowing to keep confirming more of President Joe Biden’s judicial nominees before Republicans take control of the Senate and Donald Trump moves back into the White House.
Biden has already appointed 221 judges for lifetime tenures. More than 20 others are awaiting confirmation.
“We’re in a strong position to confirm many more judges when we come back,” said Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) before the Thanksgiving break.
Aside from necessary work on the National Defense Authorization Act and preventing a government shutdown, Schumer will dedicate most floor time to nominations.
