Lawmakers have been trying to get more natural resources bills to the president’s desk.

The Senate on Thursday approved a pair of conservation and land bills as lawmakers look to send more natural resources legislation to President Donald Trump.

Members of both sides of the aisle have expressed concern about Senate Energy and Natural Resources Chair Mike Lee’s distaste for multibill packages. They also say the House has been slow in taking up Senate measures.

Approved Thursday were Alaska GOP Rep. Nick Begich’s H.R. 2815, the “Cape Fox Land Entitlement Finalization Act,” to convey roughly 180.3 acres of federal land in the Tongass National Forest to Cape Fox, an Alaska Native corporation.

Also off to the president is H.R. 972, the “Sloan Canyon Conservation and Lateral Pipeline Act,” from Rep. Dina Titus (D-Nev.), to expand the Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area boundaries in Nevada and grant rights-of-way to construct a water pipeline.
