The Senate on Tuesday confirmed James Danly for deputy Energy secretary and advanced Katharine MacGregor for the same position at the Interior Department.

The chamber voted 52-44 on Danly, former chair of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, with little debate. Maine independent Angus King was the only member of the Democratic caucus to vote “yes.”

Energy and Natural Resources ranking member Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) supported Danly in a procedural vote earlier in the day. Heinrich did not participate in the final roll call.

The Senate moved 57-41 to wind down debate on MacGregor, who already served as deputy secretary during the first Trump administration. Heinrich and King voted for both.
