The Senate on Thursday voted to overturn Biden-era oil and gas drilling restrictions in Alaska’s National Petroleum Reserve.

The Congressional Review Act resolution, brought by Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska), passed mostly along party lines, with Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) breaking with his party to support it.

The legislation would wipe out a 2022 plan for the NPR-A that protected millions of acres of land from new oil and gas production.

The CRA allows Congress to overturn administrative rules with a simple majority. It’s unclear when the House will take up the resolution.
