Senators questioned President Donald Trump’s top trade nominee Thursday on energy, carbon tariffs and renewable energy manufacturing.

Jamieson Greer, nominated for U.S. trade representative, fielded hours of questions from the Senate Finance Committee that mostly focused on Trump’s aggressive tariff plans.

Committee members also called on Greer, who served as chief of staff to the trade representative during Trump’s first administration, to speak on green manufacturing and pollution issues.
