The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee will question two major energy and environment nominees this week: Katharine MacGregor for deputy Interior secretary and James Danly for the same position at the Department of Energy.

It’s the panel’s first confirmation hearing since Interior Secretary Doug Burgum and Energy Secretary Chris Wright were approved, and an opportunity for lawmakers to question President Donald Trump’s picks on the administration’s initiatives so far — including spending cuts concerning members on both sides of the aisle.

MacGregor, currently a Florida electric utility executive, would be reprising her role as second in command at the sprawling Interior Department.
