Senators to tackle pipeline, highway, judicial nominees

The Senate is poised to confirm the first judicial nominee of President Donald Trump’s second term Monday evening.

Committees will also be busy with judicial and administration nominees this week, including President Donald Trump’s pick to lead the nation’s pipeline safety agency.

Whitney Hermandorfer, up for a seat on the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, has clerked for conservative Supreme Court justices and is currently at the Tennessee attorney general’s office. She advanced last week along party lines.

Emil Bove, a contentious nominee to the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, will soon reach the Senate floor after a Judiciary Committee vote this week.
