The youth-focused climate group Sunrise Movement is organizing student walkouts at four universities in Washington on Tuesday in response to the Trump administration’s takeover of the city’s police.

Students at American University, Georgetown University, George Washington University and Howard University are planning to walk out of classes Tuesday to protest “the federal occupation of Washington, D.C.,” Sunrise announced.

Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) and Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) are expected to appear at the Georgetown event Tuesday morning, Sunrise said.

“Trump is using the military to intimidate critics and to target Black people, immigrants, the homeless, and anybody else who doesn’t fit HIS image of America. We have a narrow window before this becomes the new normal,” Sunrise told supporters in an email.
