The company announced it delivered 384,000 vehicles in the second quarter, a drop from 444,000 over the same time frame in 2024.

Tesla posted another drop in vehicle deliveries for the second quarter of 2025 on Wednesday, the latest data point in a string of financial woes hitting the company following founder Elon Musk’s tumultuous entry into politics and subsequent squabble with President Donald Trump.

Tesla has been sputtering since Musk joined Trump’s team to lead the Department of Government Efficiency to cut federal spending. Musk announced in May he would be stepping away from politics to focus more on Tesla, but he has since criticized Republicans’ spending plans and said this week that once the megabill passes he will immediately go forward with his new “America Party.”

The company announced it delivered 384,000 vehicles in the quarter, a drop from 444,000 over the same time frame in 2024. That figure was largely in line with analysts’ forecasts that it would deliver around 387,000 vehicles, according to CNBC.

Its total revenue from car sales declined 20 percent while its net income fell 71 percent from the first quarter of 2025. Shares in the company were up more than 4 percent in late morning trade.
