Two Biden administration Cabinet members announced the distribution of $300 million Thursday to tribal nations and a U.S. territory from EPA’s climate pollution reduction grant program.

EPA Administrator Michael Regan and Interior Secretary Deb Haaland joined in the announcement of the funding.

Though the money came from an EPA program, Haaland noted that tribal governments and territories will be getting needed money to make upgrades. Haaland is the first Native American to run the Interior Department, which also oversees U.S. territories.
