Stay home, chill out, maybe take that fantasy cruise, the federal government’s HR master is advising civil servants stewing over President Donald Trump’s mass resignation scheme.
The Office of Personnel Management sent out another email blast to the federal workforce Thursday night with “FAQs” about its “Fork in the Road” proposal. The administration is pushing to shrink the federal government, and the “deferred resignation” program is seen as part of that effort along with a hiring freeze and a return-to-office mandate.
But the latest message from hr@opm.gov has not been taken well by federal employees. Some found its tone bizarre as well as degrading of their public service.
“Am I allowed to get a second job during the deferred resignation period?” asked one of the email’s questions.
