Trump changes up government worker survey

The administration canceled last year’s poll, which left the public in the dark about how civil servants were reacting to the president’s workforce policies.

The Trump administration is revising the federal government’s annual employee poll on workplace morale.

The Office of Personnel Management will no longer be the lone arbitrator of the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey. Instead, agencies will administer a revised, shorter poll of their own employees with help from OPM.

The new edition of the FEVS follows the administration canceling last year’s survey, which left the public in the dark about how federal employees were reacting to Trump’s workforce policies.

OPM Director Scott Kupor said in a blog post Wednesday that his agency “will no longer centrally administer FEVS.”
