President Donald Trump has assembled a new team of communications staffers to shape his messaging to the public and to the press.
The president announced a raft of new White House appointees Friday for appointments in the White House communications office, as well as in the public liaison and Cabinet affairs office as Trump races to staff up for his second term.
New communications staffers include former aides who worked in the first Trump administration, Trump campaign veterans and Capitol Hill alumni. Trump previously named Steven Cheung as his communications director and Karoline Leavitt as press secretary.
Alex Pfeiffer is joining the White House as principal deputy communications director. Pfeiffer previously served as a communications adviser for the Trump campaign and as an investigative and editorial producer for Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” the White House announced.
