President Donald Trump is staffing up the White House Office of Political Affairs.
Trump announced eight additional staffers Wednesday, the White House said. They join Matthew Brasseaux, a former campaign manager for Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo (R), whom the president picked in November to lead the office.
The political affairs office is traditionally the main center in the White House for coordinating political strategy, polling and some politics-focused outreach.
Emmy Ruiz led the office under former President Joe Biden, while the directors during Trump’s previous term were Bill Stepien and later Brian Jack.
