A lobbying shop led by top Republican fundraiser Jeff Miller has now joined President Donald Trump’s crusade to boost mining.

The United Co., a Virginia-based holding company with assets in natural resources, hospitality and leisure assets, has hired Miller Strategies to lobby Congress on “general issues related to surface mining,” according to a lobbying disclosure.

United has “evolved from its origin of coal production” to diversify, including among its assets “coal, oil and gas exploration services,” as well as investment management and real estate development, according to the company’s website.

Along with Miller, the company has enlisted Stefan Passantino, formerly deputy White House counsel during Trump’s first term in office, and Lucas Wallwork, once a personal aide to then-Energy Secretary Rick Perry and staffer for the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
