President-elect Donald Trump on Thursday tapped three new appointees to fill top Senate-confirmed positions at the Department of Energy.
Two first Trump term veterans and a former Republican lawmaker are included.
Darío Gil is nominated for next undersecretary for science and innovation at DOE. Gil is chair of the National Science Board, a position he was elected to last year. He’s also the senior vice president and director of research at IBM, according to his LinkedIn page.
Trump’s statement Thursday said Gil served on the Presidential Council of Advisors for Science and Technology during the president-elect’s first term.
