President-elect Donald Trump on Friday announced his hires for senior staff jobs on the White House National Economic Council.
Trump’s roster of incoming White House staffers includes veterans of his first administration and alumni of Capitol Hill. They’ll join the influential White House economic council under Kevin Hassett, an economist and former Trump White House adviser whom Trump has named as his next NEC director.
“I am pleased to announce the brilliant team who will serve on the White House National Economic Council under Kevin Hassett, one of the world’s most respected economists,” Trump announced Friday. “We will unleash a renaissance in American prosperity and innovation by putting our Nation’s Citizens, Families, and Businesses first.”
Robin Colwell will serve as NEC deputy director and deputy assistant to the president for economic policy, Trump announced. She previously served as a principal at the lobbying firm BGR Group, as a special assistant to the president in the first Trump administration, and as chief counsel for communications and technology to the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
