President Donald Trump — newly elected chair of the Kennedy Center’s board of trustees — named Lynda Lomangino and a dozen other close political allies as members to the performing arts center’s board.
Lynda’s husband, Anthony Lomangino, has been dubbed the “trash kingpin” of Florida for his involvement in multiple recycling and waste management companies in the state, namely Southern Waste Systems and LGL Recycling. Anthony Lomangino last year donated $8.9 million to Right for America, the super political action committee he co-founded in February 2024 for the sole purpose of reelecting Trump.
Trump, who complained the center had become “too woke,” ousted the board’s longtime president, Deborah Rutter, and replaced a majority of the board members with key GOP figures, including his chief of staff, Susie Wiles, and second lady Usha Vance.
Lynda Lomangino was appointed to the seat left by Amy Blanchard Ricchetti, whose term expires Sept. 1, 2030, according to a White House statement. Lomangino did not respond to requests for comment.
