West Virginia’s incoming Republican governor is eager to help Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy in their bid to shrink the federal government.
The Mountain State’s Gov.-elect Patrick Morrisey offered his assistance on social media this week to the so-called Department of Government Efficiency, an effort President-elect Donald Trump launched with the goals of cutting regulations, lowering costs and restructuring federal agencies.
“As West Virginia’s next Governor, I want to offer the full cooperation of the State of West Virginia,” Morrisey posted on social media platform X on Thursday night. The incoming governor wants to help Ramaswamy and Musk “to advance the DOGE effort and ensure it succeeds,” he said.
“Indeed, you will be seeing some similar efforts occurring on the WV state level occur in the near future when I take office,” Morrisey said. He did not respond to a request for comment about his plans for state-level efforts.
