President Donald Trump’s science adviser nominee, Michael Kratsios, sailed out of the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee on Wednesday in a 24-4 vote.

Chair Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said Kratsios has a “track record of ensuring America leads in emerging technologies like [artificial intelligence] and quantum.”

If confirmed, Kratsios would lead the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and serve as co-chair of the president’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.
